A/V Setup

Robin's goal is to build a rapport with the audience and make it an experience they will long remember. Thank you for your willingness to work with us to make this a tremendous success.

AUDIO VISUAL

You provide the following...
  • One Wireless Lavalier Microphone for Robin
  • One Projector and Screen for PowerPoint MEDIA presentation.
  • One Audio cable for Computer Audio.
  • One Audio cable for Robin's Guitar.
  • Free standing PA System (not ceiling speakers) with a 4 Channel PA Mixer (1 channel for Robin, 1 channel for Announcer mic, 1 channel for his guitar and 1 channel for his computer audio.
  • Use image magnification (video on screens) where appropriate.
ROOM SETUP
  • Provide a raised platform high enough to give audience members a clear, unobstructed view of Robin during the presentation when possible.
  • If the room is rectangular, set the stage area in the middle of the long wall - not on the short end. It is better to be wide than deep.
  • If setting chairs theater-style, stagger the chairs in each row so members will be able to see between heads. Round or rectangular tables are fine for workshop or luncheon settings.
  • Keep the front row as close to the stage as is comfortably possible.
  • Do not overset the room, it is better to have every seat filled than pockets of empty chairs.

LIGHTING

  • Audience should not be dark. Robin would like to be able to interact with the audience, when he can see their faces and make eye contact participants generally are more engaged.
  • Use additional light sources for presenter. When the presenter is illuminated more than the audience, listeners can see better and are less distracted.

VIDEO OR AUDIO TAPING

  • When video taping, Digital Video (DVCam or MiniDV) is the preferred format.
  • Lighting is critical. Speaker's must be lit appropriately for an excellent picture.
  • If recording, Robin should wear two microphones... one for the PA System and one for the video camera. The second audio channel on the video recorder should capture the live audience ambience.
  • Additional fees my be required for audio & video taping. Please discuss this with Robin or meeting planner.

PRESENTATION

  • Robin likes to run through equipment and sound check 60 to 90 minutes before the presentation, if this is not possible, please let us know.
  • Please ask attendees to turn off pagers, phones and other possible alarms before beginning.
